The Cove Legal Racing Team
Launched in 2016 the Cove Legal team made its official debut at the Satalyst Tour of Margaret River (ToMR) in November 2016. Joined that year by British Olympic medallist, national time trial and road race champion Emma Pooley, the team made an immediate impact; finishing an impressive 29th overall out of 100 participating teams, with Emma taking the Division 3 female tour jersey. Since then, team riders have raced in WA UCI events, criteriums, road races, BWA sportives and marquee events such as the 3 Dams Challenge.
The Cove Legal Racing team has achieved excellent exposure in local cycling races and events this year with team riders achieving podium finishes and sprint wins, an overall 3rd place ranking in the Ring Criterium Division C series and both first and second places in the 2017 Beverley Handicap road race.
THE TOUR OF MARGARET RIVER
The highest profile road cycling event in Western Australia, the ToMR attracts teams not only from across the Country, but also internationally renowned professional riders. This year’s event will be held over 3 days (10-12 November 2017) and feature pro riders including Annemiek van Vleuten and Marianne Vos, currently 1 and 2 in the UCI World rankings, together with celebrities such as Australian cricketer Brad Hogg.
Brad will be attending in an ambassadorial role for Cove Legal Racing having been a client for many years, significantly increasing the profile of both the CLR team and the event.
Cove Legal Racing will also be competing in support of two charities linked to mental health issues in WA, Youth Focus and Lifeline WA. Brad Hogg was recently announced as an Ambassador for Lifeline, and Cove Legal Racing Principal Roger Blow has been a Ride for Youth participant (annual Albany to Perth cycling fundraiser for Youth Focus) for the past 4 years. The charities will be assisting in promoting the Cove Legal team’s engagement with Brad and the Tour and featuring a school visit by Brad and the team riders to discuss cycle racing and positive mental health.
